    A #GivingTuesday Goal: IWSH Raising Donations to Support Life-Changing Plumbing Projects

    Wishing to positively impact the lives of the 2.2 million Americans who live without safe water and basic indoor plumbing, the International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation (IWSH®) has set a #GivingTuesday (Nov. 28) goal of raising USD $10,000 in 24 hours to fund plumbing upgrades and repairs for those most in need across the United States.

    Houston Adopts Uniform Plumbing Code and Uniform Mechanical Code

    The Houston City Council, representing the nation’s fourth most populous city, has voted to adopt the 2021 editions of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC®) and Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC®). This vote follows an extensive review conducted as part of the city’s Construction Code Modernization Project, which involved more than 200 community stakeholders representing more than 50 construction and industry associations.

    IAPMO Seeks Public Input on Manual of Recommended Practice for Medical Gas Resiliency

    The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) and the Medical Gas Resiliency Task Group are seeking the public’s initial input for development of the Manual of Recommended Practice for Medical Gas Resiliency. On Sept. 15, 2021, IAPMO initiated the Medical Gas Resiliency Task Group to create a manual to provide code enhanced and adoptable language for medical gas piping systems and include innovative approaches toward resiliency.
