2023 IAPMO Water Efficiency and Sanitation Standard Now Available

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) has published the 2023 edition of the Water Efficiency and Sanitation Standard (WE•Stand) in both hardcopy and electronic versions, completing a three-year consensus development cycle accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Former IAPMO CEO Chaney Awarded ANSI Honor

Former International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) CEO GP Russ Chaney has been named the recipient of the American National Standards Institute’s (ANSI) Chairman’s Award, which recognizes “exemplary contributions to the voluntary consensus standardization community and efforts to increase the critical voice of consumers in standardization activities.”

National High-Performance Buildings Week returns June 24-28 in Washington, D.C., with the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) proudly continuing its two decades of support for this annual event. High-Performance Buildings Week is organized by a private sector coalition of building industry stakeholders that support the High-Performance Buildings Coalition (HPBC), of which IAPMO is a founding member.

IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service Issues ER-924 and ER-925 to Spray Foam Genie

IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service (UES) has granted UES Evaluation Reports-924 and 925 to Spray Foam Genie, referencing the 2021, 2018, 2015, and 2012, editions of the International Building Code® (IBC), the International Residential Code® (IRC), and the International Energy Conservation Code® (IECC). ER-924 and ER-925 state that Spray Foam Genie’s SFG 2.0 CC and SFG 1.7 CC satisfy applicable code requirements. This allows for the specification of SFG 2.0 CC, and SFG 1.7 CC by architects, contractors, specifiers, and designers, and approval of installations by code officials. ER-924 and ER-925 also provide code officials with a concise summary of the products’ attributes and documentation of code compliance.

IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service Issues ER-826 to Earthbound Corporation

IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service (UES) is pleased to announce that Earthbound Corporation was granted UES evaluation report ER-826 for its Aluminum Plate Extruded (APE) bearing plates to reference the 2021, 2018, 2015, and 2012 editions of the International Building Code® (IBC) and the International Residential Code® (IRC). ER-826 states that the APE bearing plates satisfy applicable code requirements. This allows for the specification of the APE bearing plates by architects, contractors, specifiers, and designers, and approval of installations by code officials. ER-826 also provides code officials with a concise summary of the products’ attributes and documentation of code compliance.

IAPMO Seeks Technical Committee Members for 2027 USPSHTC, USHGC

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) is seeking volunteers to participate on two technical committees working toward the development of the 2027 editions of the Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa, and Hot Tub Code® (USPSHTC) and Uniform Solar, Hydronics and Geothermal Code® (USHGC). The deadline to submit an application is August 30. The USPSHTC and USHGC technical committees each seek members in the following categories: manufacturer, user, installer/maintainer, labor, research/standards/testing laboratory, enforcing authority, consumer, and special expert.

ASSE Seeks Working Group Members for Development of National Standards ASSE 1087 and ASSE 1378

ASSE International is seeking members for two unique working groups. One working group will be updating the standards for Performance Requirements for Commercial and Food Service Water Treatment Equipment Utilizing Drinking Water (ASSE 1087). The other working group will be developing a new standard for the Performance Requirements for Point of Entry Anion Exchange – Nitrate Reduction (ASSE 1378).
