The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety recently announced it is discontinuing Los Angeles Research Reports (LARRs) and will only base such approvals on reports from certification bodies such as IAPMO Uniform Evaluation Services (UES) that are accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065. IAPMO UES maintains such an accreditation from the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).
Building on recent presentations in Germany and Australia, the International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation (IWSH®) — the charitable arm of the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) — is set to launch the latest of its Plumbing Champions corporate social responsibility collaborations as part of the WorldSkills Ireland 2023 National Competition, which will be hosted Sept. 20-22 at the Royal Dublin Society complex (RDS).

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) is seeking volunteers with a technical background in plumbing products and/or bathroom cabinet design and testing — including jurisdictional authorities, test lab representatives, and manufacturing and product design experts — to participate on the IAPMO Z1393 technical subcommittee (TSC). The scope of the IAPMO Z1393 standard covers bathroom vanity assemblies intended for both residential and commercial applications and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance testing, and markings.
The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) has published Spanish versions of the 2021 editions of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC®) and Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC®), available in both hardcopy and digital formats. The English versions of these codes were completed in a three‐year consensus development cycle accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
The Radiant Professionals Alliance (RPA) and International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) have entered into a memorandum of understanding with the mutual goal of promoting and advancing technological innovations of geothermal systems. Located in Monterrey, IAPMO Mexico is accredited by entidad Mexicana de acreditación, A.C. (ema) and approved by Comisión Nacional del Agua (CONAGUA) to test plumbing products destined for the Mexican market.

The ROC is the technical committee report on the actions taken by the technical committee accompanied by a ballot statement and one or more comments resulting from public review of the Report on Proposals(ROP).
