IAPMO Seeks Public Input on Manual of Recommended Practice for Medical Gas Resiliency

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) and the Medical Gas Resiliency Task Group are seeking the public’s initial input for development of the Manual of Recommended Practice for Medical Gas Resiliency. On Sept. 15, 2021, IAPMO initiated the Medical Gas Resiliency Task Group to create a manual to provide code enhanced and adoptable language for medical gas piping systems and include innovative approaches toward resiliency.

During a formal signing ceremony at their co-located 19th Annual Meeting and 94th annual Education and Business Conference in San Antonio, Texas, the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA) officially joined the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®). ARCSA will be renamed “ARCSA International” allowing the organization to maintain its identity while becoming a discrete business unit of The IAPMO Group.

The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety recently announced it is discontinuing Los Angeles Research Reports (LARRs) and will only base such approvals on reports from certification bodies such as IAPMO Uniform Evaluation Services (UES) that are accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065. IAPMO UES maintains such an accreditation from the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).
