IAPMO Seeks Technical Subcommittee Members for Development of American National Standard IAPMO Z1393

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) is seeking volunteers with a technical background in plumbing products and/or bathroom cabinet design and testing — including jurisdictional authorities, test lab representatives, and manufacturing and product design experts — to participate on the IAPMO Z1393 technical subcommittee (TSC). The scope of the IAPMO Z1393 standard covers bathroom vanity assemblies intended for both residential and commercial applications and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance testing, and markings.

IAPMO Publishes Spanish Versions of 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code and Uniform Mechanical Code

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) has published Spanish versions of the 2021 editions of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC®) and Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC®), available in both hardcopy and digital formats. The English versions of these codes were completed in a three‐year consensus development cycle accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

RPA, IGSHPA sign MoU to Advance and Promote Geothermal Heating and Cooling

The Radiant Professionals Alliance (RPA) and International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) have entered into a memorandum of understanding with the mutual goal of promoting and advancing technological innovations of geothermal systems. The partnership will coordinate RPA, IGSHPA and its respective members with technical activities coordination, research, education, advocacy, publications and leadership for more sustainable building operations and the green economy.

IAPMO R&T Lab Opens Product Test Lab in Mexico

IAPMO R&T Lab, a trusted name for independent testing, research, and technical services in the plumbing and mechanical industries, recently opened its first product test lab in Mexico. Located in Monterrey, IAPMO Mexico is accredited by entidad Mexicana de acreditación, A.C. (ema) and approved by Comisión Nacional del Agua (CONAGUA) to test plumbing products destined for the Mexican market.

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®), developer of the Uniform Solar, Hydronics and Geothermal Code (USHGC) and Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code (USPSHTC), has posted online the 2023 Report on Comments (ROC) for the 2024 editions of these prospective American National Standard- designated model codes. The ROC is the technical committee report on the actions taken by the technical committee accompanied by a ballot statement and one or more comments resulting from public review of the Report on Proposals(ROP).

The ROC is the technical committee report on the actions taken by the technical committee accompanied by a ballot statement and one or more comments resulting from public review of the Report on Proposals (ROP).

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) is seeking volunteers with technical background in plumbing and mechanical systems — such as jurisdictional authorities, testing lab and educational facility representatives, as well as manufacturing experts — to participate on the IAPMO Z1390 technical subcommittee (TSC). A new standard, Z1390 for adult changing stations, will be developed by this TSC.
