IAPMO Seeks Technical Subcommittee Members for Development of National Standard IAPMO Z1390 for Adult Changing Stations

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) is seeking volunteers with technical background in plumbing and mechanical systems — such as jurisdictional authorities, testing lab and educational facility representatives, as well as manufacturing experts — to participate on the IAPMO Z1390 technical subcommittee (TSC). A new standard, Z1390 for adult changing stations, will be developed by this TSC.

The Z1390 TSC members will be assisting the Plumbing Standards Committee (PSC) with the development of Z1390 as a new American National Standard and National Standard of Canada. The Z1390 TSC will also be responsible for the content and processing of public review comments.

The Z1390 TSC will operate in accordance with IAPMO’s accredited procedures for standards development IAPMO PP-1 (Policies and Procedures for Consensus Development of American National Standards) and IAPMO PP-2 (Policies and Procedures for Development of National Standards of Canada).

IAPMO, Pace to Publish UMC Chapter 17 as Standalone Document for Geothermal Energy Systems and Ambient Temperature Loops (ATL)

IAPMO® and the Pace Energy and Climate Center at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University (Pace) have agreed to jointly publish Chapter 17 of the Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC®) as a standalone document (IAPMO/UMC/Chapter 17-2024) to address the needs for enforceable safety provisions for geothermal district ambient temperature loop systems. Pace advised IAPMO on the development of this document.
