    IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service Issues ER-595 to Fyfe Company, LLC

    Ontario, Calif. — IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service (UES) is pleased to announce that Fyfe Company, LLC, was granted UES Evaluation Report ER-595 to reference the International Building Code® (IBC), the International Residential Code® (IRC), the California Building Code (CBC), the California Residential Code (CRC), the Los Angeles Building Code (LABC) and the Los Angeles Residential Code (LARC). ER-595 states that the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Systems satisfies applicable code requirements. This allows for the specification of the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Systems by architects, contractors, specifiers and designers, and approval of installations by code officials. ER-595 also provides code officials with a concise summary of the products’ attributes and documentation of code compliance.

    Products recognized with an IAPMO UES Evaluation Report have successfully undergone evaluation based on applicable requirements within the Uniform Family of Codes and the International Family of Codes, as well as codes published by other entities. IAPMO UES developed EC-038, the Evaluation Criteria for Diaphragm Strengthening Using Fiber Reinforced Polymers, for the types of applications addressed in ER-595. UES staff then thoroughly examined Fyfe’s information, test reports, calculations, quality control methods, and other materials to determine the products are compliant with EC-038.

    The UES program is built upon IAPMO’s more than 70 years of experience in evaluating products for code compliance. Accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the program operates under ISO/IEC 17065, “General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification Systems.”

    IAPMO’s UES offers a full range of recognition opportunities, including recognition for the applicable national model codes, as well as Florida, California, the city of Los Angeles, various other state and local codes, and codes adopted by other nations. By combining all of these recognitions into one concise report prepared by an internationally recognized product certification body, the UES program reduces costs and increases value.

    Report on Comments Toward Development of 2027 UPC, UMC Now Available for Online Download

    IAPMO®, developer of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC®) and Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC®), has posted online the 2025 Report on Comments (ROC) for the 2027 editions of these American National Standard-designated model codes. The ROC includes the committee actions as discussed during the May 6-8 technical committee meetings, the electronic ballot results as balloted between May 19-June 16, and the Technical Correlating Committee actions on all comments received for the 2027 editions.

    IAPMO®, a global team of experts engaging industry and government for a safer built environment, was proud to support the the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Workshop: Strengthening Standards and Technical Regulations for Safer Drinking Water – Developing an International Roadmap. The two-day workshop helped kick off the Third Senior Officials’ Meeting and Related Meetings (SOM3), which began July 26 and are slated to run through Aug. 15.
