IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service Issues ER-595 to Fyfe Company, LLC

Ontario, Calif. — IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service (UES) is pleased to announce that Fyfe Company, LLC, was granted UES Evaluation Report ER-595 to reference the International Building Code® (IBC), the International Residential Code® (IRC), the California Building Code (CBC), the California Residential Code (CRC), the Los Angeles Building Code (LABC) and the Los Angeles Residential Code (LARC). ER-595 states that the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Systems satisfies applicable code requirements. This allows for the specification of the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Systems by architects, contractors, specifiers and designers, and approval of installations by code officials. ER-595 also provides code officials with a concise summary of the products’ attributes and documentation of code compliance.

Products recognized with an IAPMO UES Evaluation Report have successfully undergone evaluation based on applicable requirements within the Uniform Family of Codes and the International Family of Codes, as well as codes published by other entities. IAPMO UES developed EC-038, the Evaluation Criteria for Diaphragm Strengthening Using Fiber Reinforced Polymers, for the types of applications addressed in ER-595. UES staff then thoroughly examined Fyfe’s information, test reports, calculations, quality control methods, and other materials to determine the products are compliant with EC-038.

“We appreciate the efforts from everyone involved to publish this report.” said Scott Arnold, Fyfe director of Engineering Solutions. “These efforts will help to further grow our industry and product acceptance.”

The UES program is built upon IAPMO’s more than 70 years of experience in evaluating products for code compliance. Accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the program operates under ISO/IEC 17065, “General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification Systems.”

IAPMO’s UES offers a full range of recognition opportunities, including recognition for the applicable national model codes, as well as Florida, California, the city of Los Angeles, various other state and local codes, and codes adopted by other nations. By combining all of these recognitions into one concise report prepared by an internationally recognized product certification body, the UES program reduces costs and increases value.

“Fyfe can now reference its ER-595 for its Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Systems, which allows code officials and others to easily access the information needed to submit and prepare permits,” said UES Vice President of Technical Operations Brian Gerber. “Our program stands out because of superb customer responsiveness and the quality of our reports and listings. Our experienced in-house staff, along with associated professional engineering firms, are committed to provide the best possible service to the building industry.”
