IAPMO R&T, RPA Promote Services at 2016 AHR Expo

Orlando, Fla. – IAPMO R&T, North America’s premier third-party certification body for mechanical products, and the Radiant Professionals Alliance (RPA) recently concluded the 2016 AHR Expo, a three-day, 470,000-square-foot show at the Orange County Convention Center featuring more than 2,000 exhibitors representing every segment of the HVACR industry. The show, which took place Jan. 25-27, drew more than 42,000 visitors.

IAPMO R&T provided significant assistance to manufacturers of products intended for use in plumbing systems and potable water applications. The show was also an excellent opportunity to meet with several existing clients to see how IAPMO R&T could further assist with new product launches. Along with other IAPMO business units, IAPMO R&T reached out to manufacturers and provided them with services to bring their plumbing and mechanical products to code and standard compliance. IAPMO also took a significant amount of orders for its code books, particularly for its newly released 2015 edition of the Uniform Solar Energy and Hydronics Code (USEHC), at the event.

“This year’s show was a very busy and successful one,” said Jin Luo, Executive Vice President of IAPMO R&T’s Lab Recognition & Asia Pacific Operations. “Our booth was frequently visited by existing and potential clients to discuss the certification needs of their new products.”

For the third consecutive year, the RPA held its Annual Meeting and Conference in conjunction with the AHR Expo. The RPA saw record-breaking attendance in the majority of its classes, including standing room only for the “No Sweat Radiant Cooling” seminar. Many new members, including manufacturers and contractors, signed up at the booth during show hours.

“All of the classes received top marks from the class attendees, which was a mix of contractors and engineers,” said RPA Executive Director Mark Eatherton. “This is an excellent indication of industry trends, and should come as good news to our manufacturer members. People are very interested in using and promoting the use of hydronics and radiant cooling systems, commercially as well as residentially.”

The RPA held numerous round-table discussions with its attending members, and began charting the course of the organization for the coming year. Additionally, John Goshulak of Weil-McLain Canada received the Carlson Holohan Industry Award of Excellence at the RPA Annual Social Event, which was attended by the Who's Who of the hydronics industry.

The 2017 AHR Expo will be held Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, 2017, in Las Vegas. For more information, direct your web browser to ahrexpo.com.
