IAPMO R&T Participates in Inaugural Water Technology and Funding Summit

Pasadena, Calif. – IAPMO R&T, North America’s premier third-party testing and certification body for plumbing, mechanical, and water treatment products, recently participated in the inaugural Water Technology and Funding Summit at the Hilton Hotel in Pasadena, Calif. IAPMO R&T joined a diverse panel of experts representing universities, government, science, industry, and finance to address the critical issues of water scarcity, climate change, regulations, and failing infrastructure.

Held against the backdrop of California’s serious drought, the day-long summit featured presentations and panel discussions intended to not only shed light on troubling water issues, but discuss how new technologies and innovation might provide solutions toward water conservation and sustainability.

In addition to IAPMO R&T, speakers and moderators represented such organizations and institutions as NASA JPL, Caltech’s Resnick Sustainability Institute, USC, UCLA, Cal State University Santa Barbara, Metropolitan Water District, LADWP, State Water Resources Control Board, Best Best & Krieger, Burns & McDonnell Engineering, Cordoba Corporation, San Marino Venture Group, Grundfos, Waste Water Management Inc., HDR Inc., Blacoh Fluid Control Inc., KRE Consultants, GardaWorld, Pumps & Systems Magazine, and AWWA.

“We were pleased to participate in the summit because IAPMO R&T understands the importance of keeping current on industry relations pertaining to water, especially plumbing applications that may affect the public’s health and safety,” said Brenda Madonna, IAPMO R&T’s Global Sales manager.

The event stressed that every living thing on Earth is impacted by water and as its chief steward mankind is responsible for its conservation and safety. To that end, a dramatic shift in that conservation is long overdue argued the event’s organizer, Andrew Yeghnazar, co-founder of Water Technology Hub.

“We have seen disruptions take place in the world of communications, renewable energy, oil and gas exploration, and 3D printing,” he said. “It’s time for this to happen to water.”

Water Technology Hub is a global exchange for the ideas, innovations and emerging technologies that will lead to the type of disruptive collaboration needed to solve the worldwide water shortage.
