IAPMO R&T Grants First Mexican Plumbing Listing to TOTO

Ontario, Calif. – IAPMO R&T, North America’s leading provider of certification and listing services for manufacturers of plumbing, mechanical and solar products for the United States, Canadian and now Mexican markets, is pleased to announce that TOTO has become the first company to gain certification through IAPMO R&T’s new Mexican Certification program.

TOTO has successfully obtained a listing on its Neorest 550H and 550 toilets, luxury models that include such features as TOTO’s Cyclone® siphon jet flushing system, automatic opening and closing lid, hands-free automatic flushing, nightlight, remote control and other features.

“The products we are certifying for the Mexican market represent our flagship toilet line, which is our Neorest series,” explained Fernando Fernandez, TOTO director of Codes and Standards. “IAPMO R&T has reached a new milestone by being able to grow its certification services into the Mexican marketplace. Not only does this expand on the concept of a true ‘one-stop shop,’ where testing and certification may be accomplished under one roof for a multitude of markets, but it also demonstrates IAPMO R&T's willingness to listen to its customers' expectations. I can only expect more good things to come in the future.”

Last month, IAPMO R&T achieved accreditation to certify such plumbing products as toilets, showerheads, flushometer valves, and fill and flush valves for use throughout Mexico by the nation’s premier nongovernmental body for the accreditation of testing laboratories and certification bodies, entidad mexicana de acreditación, a.c. (ema), as well as gained recognition by Comisión Nacional del Agua (CONAGUA).

TOTO acted quickly to participate in this new program from IAPMO R&T, the first U.S.-based certification agency to become accredited to certify plumbing products intended for the Mexican market.

“IAPMO R&T and TOTO have a decades-long history of working together to certify TOTO’s outstanding products for use in the United States and Canada,” said The IAPMO Group CEO GP Russ Chaney. “We are excited to share this milestone achievement with such a respected manufacturer.”

IAPMO and IAPMO R&T have provided comprehensive certification services throughout the United States since the 1930s and expanded into Canada 10 years ago, soon growing into the leading provider by far of plumbing product certifications in the nation. IAPMO R&T Lab is similarly accredited to provide testing services to manufacturers of water closets, flushometer valves, fill and flush valves and showerheads intended for use in Mexico. Testing and certification for faucets is expected to be available soon.

The IAPMO Group offers an extensive menu of services — product testing and certification, code and standard development, training and education — offering clients worldwide one-stop shopping for all of their plumbing, mechanical and solar needs, all with fast turnaround and industry-renowned customer service.
