IAPMO Group Business Units Promote Comprehensive Services at Trade Shows

Representatives from numerous IAPMO Group business units hit the road early in 2020 to attend trade shows throughout the United States, engaging with industry professionals, current and potential clients, and other stakeholders to spread the word about the organization’s comprehensive menu of testing and conformity assessment services.

IAPMO R&T, North America’s premier third-party certification body for plumbing and mechanical products, IAPMO R&T Lab, and IAPMO EGS got things started by attending the 2020 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) from Jan. 21-23 in Las Vegas. IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Services (UES) and Institute of Building Technology (IBT) participated in the NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS), which was combined with KBIS for the annual Design & Construction Week. The co-located events drew an estimated 90,000 people.

KBIS, consistently among the nation’s largest trade events, brings together kitchen and bath dealers, designers, architects, remodelers, wholesalers and custom builders for residential and commercial kitchens and bathrooms. Representatives from IAPMO R&T, R&T Lab and EGS met with industry decision makers along the sprawling show floor and at their respective booths, demonstrating a comprehensive menu of testing and conformity assessment services available throughout North America.

UES and IBT also attended the Sprayfoam Show 2020 Convention & Expo in Pasadena, California, Feb. 11-14. UES participated in World of Concrete 2020, Feb. 4-7 in Las Vegas, and the International Roofing Expo, Feb. 4-6, in Dallas. UES reached nearly 140,000 attendees during the IBS (65,000), Sprayfoam (1,200), World of Concrete (54,000), and International Roofing Expo (17,000) shows, bringing incredible exposure to IAPMO UES.

“We enjoyed another great early show season this year,” said UES Vice President Richard Beck. “UES strives to strengthen our relationships, and these shows provide a wonderful opportunity to meet with current and future evaluation report holders.”

Representatives from the Radiant Professionals Alliance (RPA), IAPMO R&T and Code Development, who were on hand to advocate for the Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC), attended the AHR Expo, Feb. 3-5 in Orlando, Florida.

In addition to exhibiting on the show floor, the RPA participated in the AHR Expo’s education track of more than 120 free seminars, professional certification and continuing education courses offered by industry experts, including the RPA’s “Key Factors for a Successful Snowmelt Design,” “Radiant Heating Do’s and Don’ts,” “Comfort, Health, and Energy Efficiency with Low Mass Radiant Panels and Active Chilled Beams,” “The Benefits of Manifold Flow Meters in Design and Installation for Radiant,” “Separation Anxiety in the Hydronic World,” and “The BEST Way to Compare HVAC Systems in the Early Project Design Phase.”

“We had an excellent turnout for our educational sessions, with over 450 participants combined,” said RPA Vice President Les Nelson.

Orlando, Florida, will be the site of next year’s KBIS (www.kbis.com) and IBS (www.buildersshow.com), from Feb. 9-11, 2021. World of Concrete (www.worldofconcrete.com) will return to the Las Vegas Convention Center next year, Jan. 18-22, 2021. The 2021 International Roofing Expo (www.theroofingexpo.com) will be in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Feb. 24-26, 2021. The 2021 AHR Expo (www.ahrexpo.com) moves to Chicago and will be held Jan. 25-27, 2021. The Sprayfoam Show 2021 Convention & Expo (www.thesprayfoamshow.com) will take place in San Antonio the first week of February.
