Violation of any IAPMO test-taking policy or attempt to fraudulently will automatically invalidate a candidate's exam results and may result in a temporary or permanent ban from IAPMO’s testing services. No fees will be refunded.

Any attempt to copy or otherwise capture or record exam items, images, or content, will invalidate exam results and forfeiture of all paid exam fees and may result in a temporary or permanent ban from IAPMO’s testing services.

Any such activity is considered theft and compromises the integrity of the exam. Any individual(s) discovered to have attempted to copy, capture, or record any exam information will be held fully financially responsible for the development of new exam items and exams and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

IAPMO may report any fraudulent activity to appropriate licensing authorities.

At this time, there are no prerequisites to take an IAPMO Certification Exam. 

For license testing programs, there may be prerequisites or requirements mandated by the licensing body. IAPMO is a testing provider and is not involved in or responsible for the requirements your local licensing body. It is the candidate’s responsibility to research, understand, and adhere to any requirements that need to be met and verified prior to taking and exam or becoming licensed.

    • Any resources not explicitly allowed for the exam

For Computer-based exams, you will receive your examination results the same day immediately upon completing your exam. 

For Paper exams, upon completion, the answer sheets and test booklets are returned to the proctor and sent to IAPMO. Strict procedures are followed to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and exam security.  Credentials will be sent to those that pass and a notice email will be sent to those that fail.

Exam results will be processed within 3-4 weeks of the exam date.  

Scores will only be given to the individual candidate. 

If you are unable to take the exam on the date originally chosen, you must notify IAPMO at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled exam. There is no fee for rescheduling, however, if you do not show up for a scheduled examination and fail to notify IAPMO 48 hours prior, all fees paid will be forfeited. 

FLEX remote exams must be taken within one year of when the exam directions were delivered.

Candidates failing to achieve a passing score will be eligible for re-examination as soon as the next examination is scheduled.  Re-examination will require the submittal of a new application and the payment of a new fee. There is no limit to the number of times you may take the examinations, however, after the 3rd attempt, the candidate will have to wait three months before applying again. It is recommended that you spend time studying between attempts.
