The following exams are offered
Journeyman Exams
- Journeyman Plumber (with and without gas) (2015 UPC, 2018 UPC, 2021 UPC)
- Journeyman Mechanical (2015 UMC, 2018 UMC, 2021 UMC)
- Type: 100 Multiple Choice; Exam Time: 3 hours allowed
- Open book
- Code book must match exam
- Passing grade: 75%
Examination Fee: $125.00 (per exam)
Master Exams
- Master Plumber (with and without gas) (2015 UPC, 2018 UPC, 2021 UPC)
- Master Mechanical (2015 UMC, 2018 UMC, 2021 UMC)
- Type: 125 Multiple Choice, Exam Time: 4 hours allowed
- Open book
- Code book must match exam
- Passing grade: 75%
Examination Fee: $125.00 (per exam)
In Person Testing
We have partnered with Local 441 in Wichita, Kansas for Journeyman and Master Plumbing and Mechanical License testing for UA members and non-members. In Person exams are held the first Thursday of every month at 8:00am.
After registering to take the exam, IAPMO staff will contact you within 5 business days.
FLEX Remote Testing
IAPMO’s FLEX remote testing option is now available. IAPMO provides a flexible and convenient test taking with our FLEX exam testing option. This remote online proctoring functionality enables IAPMO to provide our test takers with the flexibility to complete their exam remotely in a secure and convenient environment. This option also allows for the convenience of scheduling an exam to accommodate your schedule without having to travel to a testing center.
Remote proctoring allows IAPMO to retain the integrity of the exam administration process while providing a new, modern, and convenient way for candidates to earn their professional credentials.
Individuals choosing this option must have google chrome, a webcam, and a microphone. For more information on our FLEX testing option, click here
