    Report on Comments Toward Development of 2027 USHGC, USPSHTC, WE•Stand Now Available for Online Download

    Ontario, California — IAPMO®, developer of the Uniform Solar, Hydronics and Geothermal Code®
    (USHGC®) and Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code® (USPSHTC®), and Water Efficiency and Sanitation Standard® (WE•Stand®) has posted online the 2026 Report on Comments (ROC) for the 2027 editions of these prospective American National Standard-designated model codes. The ROC is the technical committee report on the actions taken by the technical committee accompanied by a ballot statement and one or more comments resulting from public review of the Report on Proposals (ROP).

    The USHGC, USPSHTC, and WE•Stand are model codes developed by IAPMO to govern the installation and inspection of solar energy, hydronics and geothermal energy systems, as well as swimming pool, spa, and hot tub systems, respectively, as a means of promoting the public’s health, safety, and welfare. The 2027 edition of each code, scheduled for publication early next year, is being developed through a process accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The notification of the ROC availability will also be posted in the ANSI Standards Action for public review. The public review deadline is Oct. 30.     Anyone may appeal to the Executive Committee of the USHGC/USPSHTC/WE•Stand in accordance with Section 9.0 of both IAPMO’S Regulations Governing Consensus Development of the USHGC and USPSHTC and IAPMO’S Regulations Governing Consensus Development of the WE•Stand.  
     
    The notification of intent to file a written appeal deadline is Oct. 30.

    IAPMO® signed two memorandums of understanding (MOUs) during the 14th World Plumbing Conference, held in Birmingham, United Kingdom, establishing expanded international collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE).
