IAPMO R&T Promotes Anish Desai to Senior Vice President of Product Certification

IAPMO R&T, North America’s premier third-party testing and certification body for plumbing, mechanical and water treatment products, is pleased to announce the promotion of Anish Desai to senior vice president of Product Certification.

In addition to continuing to oversee daily operation of the Certification department, Desai will broaden his involvement with industry associations and standard development activities while furthering his engagement with key clients.

“Anish’s background, knowledge and experience have served well in managing IAPMO R&T’s product certification services,” said Jin Luo, IAPMO R&T executive vice president. “With the promotion, Anish’s role will be expanded to further serve the industry and our customers, thus contributing to the continued growth of the organization.”

A graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Desai has served in numerous roles during his 19 years with The IAPMO Group, starting as a product review engineer in 2003. After a promotion to quality assurance manager handling accreditation audits, Desai assumed management responsibility for the Certification department.

“It has been a privilege to work for and grown with The IAPMO Group for most of my career,” Desai said. “I am excited and grateful for this opportunity and look forward to contributing further to The IAPMO Group’s success in the years to come.”

IAPMO R&T offers a full range of recognition opportunities, including recognition for the applicable national model codes, as well as the U.S. EPA’s WaterSense® and ENERGY STAR®. The IAPMO R&T program lowers the cost and increases the value to code officials of these listings by combining all of these recognitions in one concise document prepared by an internationally recognized product certification body.

The R&T program is built upon IAPMO’s more than 85 years of experience in evaluating plumbing products for standard and code compliance. Accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the program operates under ISO/IEC Guide 17065, “General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification Systems.”
