Conglom Inc. Receives First IAPMO R&T Stainless Steel Sink Certification to NSF/ANSI 2-2015

IAPMO R&T, North America’s premier third-party certification body for plumbing and mechanical products, has completed its first stainless steel sink certification to the NSF/ANSI 2-2015 standard, for Conglom Inc.’s line of stainless-steel utility sinks for commercial applications.

Equipment covered by the standard includes, but is not limited to, bakery, cafeteria, kitchen and pantry units and other food handling and processing equipment such as tables and components, counters, hoods, shelves and sinks.

The certification is for 16 models of stainless steel sinks that range in size from 22”L x 18”W x 11”D to 36”L x 22”W x 13”D.

IAPMO R&T has certified stainless steel sinks with household applications to ASME A112.19.3/CSAB45.4, “Stainless Steel Plumbing Fixtures,” for many years. IAPMO R&T’s expertise in the kitchen extends beyond products related only to plumbing. IAPMO R&T is accredited the by American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) to certify food equipment, including stainless steel sinks for commercial applications such as Conglom’s. Rather than going to two separate organizations for their certification needs, manufacturers are able to obtain both from IAPMO R&T, providing an efficient option that allows them to enter the market more quickly.

“We chose IAPMO for our NSF/ANSI 2-2015 certification requirements due to the vast recognition that the IAPMO brand has in plumbing-related products,” Conglom Inc. PD senior consultant Juan Gayoso said. “The ease of having a ‘one-stop shop’ for the cUPC certification, which we also require in these units, the assistance and technical support that the IAPMO engineers always provide to our technical team, and the peace of mind that working with an experienced team brings are of critical importance to us, as these units were our first NSF/ANSI 2-2015 project to tackle. We are extremely satisfied with how smoothly the project went and that all the timelines were met.”

IAPMO’s certification marks of conformity carry the organization’s more than 70-year reputation for integrity and accountability and are readily recognized throughout North America. For more details about IAPMO’s services, please visit www.iapmort.org.
