Commonwealth of Massachusetts Continuing Education for Licensed Plumbers, Gasfitters and Inspectors

Continuing Education sessions that meet the mandatory requirements of Massachusetts 248 CMR 11.00 conducted by the premier instructor team in the state. We conduct these seminars at various locations throughout the State on Saturday’s, weekdays, evenings, and as private classes.  Complete your continuing education anytime using the IAPMO state compliant, user friendly, Self-Paced Online Courses. Also, the third-class option is the IAPMO instructor led Live Virtual Webinar Class. Watch for Session #17 classes to be announced!

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED to ensure proper class planning, facility arrangements, and to SAVE YOU MONEY. Pre-registration for licensed plumber - six hour class fee is $110.00 and licensed gasfitter - three hour class fee is $70.00.

About the 248 CMR 11.00 Requirement

248 CMR 11.00 governs the continuing education requirements for Massachusetts licensed plumbers and gasfitters in the Commonwealth. The Regulation requires licensees to complete continuing education during each two-year renewal cycle, the Board of State Examiners provides the course agenda for each session and encourages input and suggestions from all Licensees.  To submit curriculum ideas or for further information, contact:  Peter DeFreitas, N.E. • Journeyman and Master Plumbers are required to attend one 6-hour course annually, totaling 12 hours of Board approved continuing education in the two-year renewal period.
• Journeyman, Master, and LP Gasfitters are required to attend one 3-hour course annually, totaling 6 hours of Board approved continuing education in the two-year renewal period.
• Duly appointed Plumbing and Gas Inspectors are required to attend two four-hour classes each year plus also attend four one-hour classes.  Each renewal cycle, Inspectors must complete the mandatory 24-hours of continuing education. 

A certificate of completion is issued to the licensee as evidence of completing the required training and IAPMO submits licensee attendance information to the Board office in compliance with 248 CMR 11.00
