Nebraska Plumbing License Exams
IAPMO is excited to provide Journeyman and Master Plumbing License Exams for Nebraska.
Exam Details
Exams offered:
- COLUMBUS: Journeyman Plumber with Gas (2018 UPC), Master Plumber with Gas (2018 UPC)
- KEARNEY: Journeyman Plumber (2021 UPC), Master Plumber (2021 UPC)
- LINCOLN: Journeyman Plumber (2018 UPC) with Amendments and Master Plumber (2018 UPC) with Amendments. If you are interested in license testing in Lincoln, please contact Patrick Genrich at pgenrich@lincoln.ne.gov or 402.441.6408.
For Columbus and Kearney Exams only:
- Journeyman Exams - 100 Multiple Choice, 3 hours allowed exam time.
- Master Exams - 125 Multiple Choice, 4 hours allowed exam time.
- Open book
- Uniform Plumbing Code only (code year must match exam)
- Passing grade: 70%
- Examination Fee: $125.00

Prior to registering for the exam, it is required to receive an approval from Nebraska.
What to Bring to the Exam
For exam security and integrity purposes you are only allowed to bring the following references into the exam environment:
Uniform Plumbing Code Book - Candidates can bring an original copy of the Uniform Plumbing Code book for use on the exam that meets the following criteria:
- It must be an original copy in its original binding, meaning it cannot be a photocopied version of the code.
- The version of the UPC code book must match the code year of the exam. If there is a mismatch between the code and the exam year, candidates will not be allowed to take the exam.
- No loose papers or notes are allowed to be inserted or written in the code book. Any of these items found before the exam begins will be removed from the testing environment. Any of these items found during the exam will result in immediate termination of the exam and the violating candidate will be reported as violating exam rules.
