Equally important was the RainSaucer's compatibility with standard 55 gallon drums. The harvested rainwater will be used for growing fruits and vegetables in the garden.

Rainwater Management Solutions
Seagate MRC2 Facility Project Rainwater Management Solutions has completed Start-up on the rainwater harvesting system at Seagate’s MRC2 Facility in Fremont, CA. This systems collects water from over 62,000 square feet of roof area and feeds into two 29,700 gallon storage tanks as well as a Day Tank following the WISY Four-Step Filtration process. The system provides the facility with water for toilet flushing.

Two WISY WFF300 Vortex Filters are installed prior to the storage tanks as the first stage of filtration, removing particulate greater than 380 microns from the collected rainwater. The water then flows into the first cistern where it is dispensed through an 8” smoothing inlet, which directs water upwards to prevent disturbing the healthy biofilm that has developed at the bottom of the cistern. Any particulate remaining following the initial stage of filtration will sink to the bottom of the tanks or float to the top of the water level. 

An overflow device prevents the tanks from filling completely while skimming floating particulate to increase the quality of the water in the cistern. Water is drawn from 6-8” below the surface level by way of a floating filter and then passes through additional filtration steps. A bag filter eliminates particles greater than 1 micron in the first step of filtration and the water then passes through a carbon filter. Before feeding into the Day Tank, the water passes through a UV Light as the final stage of filtration.  The three post-tank filtration elements are mounted on a skid manufactured by Rainwater Management Solutions along with a RMS Series 200 Controller to control pump operation. After UV filtration, the water is stored in a Day Tank until needed. A duplex booster pump skid with two Variable Frequency Drives then pulls water from the Day Tank and supplies the facility as needed.
