The IAPMO Standards Council functions as the overseers of the code development process. They ensure that the Technical Committees and code development department act within the procedural boundaries as set forth in the Regulations Governing Committee Projects. The duties of the Council include, but are not limited to, reviewing and acting upon all requests for appeal, appointing members of the Technical Committees, and issuance of the Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes. The final recourse for appellants who have received a response from IAPMO’s Standards Council is to submit a petition to the IAPMO Board of Directors.
